Long Strange Trip; part #1…

Long Strange Trip…

Hello everyone; as Lee said below, we’re long overdue for an update here…and I have a LOT to share.  It’s been weeks since my last posting and since then I’ve traveled over 9,000 miles in search of some real answers to my serious questions.  It’s really unbelievable how much conflicting information is available and how many differing opinions there are from “The Experts” on the right course of action.  I’m relieved to say that this journey was in the end very productive and I now feel the most hopeful and clear about my direction on this journey to complete healing…Give Thanks!

 Give Thanksgiving~

  •  It was great to have a few days off and visit my Family for Thanksgiving; they even made us a To-furkey!  I was always a fan of the dark meat & gravy, but for now its pretty much all veggies and LOTS of GREENS.  Give Thanks!
  • While we were down in the San Diego area we had a great time at the San Diego Wild Animal Park; did you know that a White Rhino’s head weighs 800 Pounds?   We also had a blast covering every inch of Lego Land.  Thankfully, my sister Lena and her family were able to join us; including her two grandson’s Spencer and Nolan, they are 6 & 7 years old and made great partners for Arian….we just had to keep up!
  • Our last day in San Diego was a LONG one!  We started @ the Gerson Institute; where we met with one of their doctors and several of the other staff and discussed their approach.  The Gerson method involves a VERY strict and specific Diet, lots of Vegetable Juicing and several Coffee-Enemas per day.  Our meeting was very informative and we were invited to stay and share a “Gerson Lunch” with the staff prepared by their Chef, also a Gerson Patient!  I have to say that this approach is not one that completely resonated with me.  But I’m very thankful for the information we gathered there and the time we spent with their staff.  After Lunch is was time for the long drive back to SF, 11+ hours!  Next year, we’re flying…
  • The day after getting back to SF, it was time to get back in the car to visit Dr. Greg Barsten @ Health Quest Los Gatos. I was happy to hear that all of the work we’d been doing to improve my overall health and specifically my immune system is WORKING!  We were thrilled to see the progress made on several fronts; including body chemistry and immune system function.  The body is an amazing thing and it’s comforting to know that with some expert direction and a little behavior modification we can really change our body chemistry pretty dramatically in a relatively short time (30 – 60 days!)…pretty amazing considering a lot of my bad dietary habits were 40 years old!  We left Health Quest with two more leads that day:
  1. Center for Natural Healing; Turns out this is where Dr. Barsten studied with Medicinal Herbalists to fight cancer with natural methods.
  2. Weisenthal Cancer Group; Dr. Larry Weisenthal is at the forefront of Tumor Cell Profiling research and could be a big help to us!
